Singer-actress Sharon Cuneta’s MESA Filipino Moderne, is a favorite restaurant of Filipinos who wish to bring back memories of families and home-cooked traditional Filipino dishes.
The restaurant chain was adjudged the Philippines Best Restaurant by Asia Tatler Dining for three consecutive years, Manila’s Best Kept Secret Awardeee as the Best Filipino Restaurant, and has earned a Top Food Spot Award.
Mesa is credited as being the first and only grill-restaurant where diners can have grilling right at their table. Its menu consists of innovations on authentic regional recipes for seafood, chicken, pork, beef, soups, appetizers, among other Filipino comfort food.
It is the only restaurant in the country that serves Crispchon. The popular fare at Mesa has the grilled pig’s crispy skin served wrapped inside pandan crepes with wansuy, cucumber, and leek garnishes and served with three sauces. The rest of the pig is served tossed in chili garlic.
Another dish reviewers have praised is its Swahe On The Rocks, a unique presentation of shrimps cooking on hot stones.
The dining area is designed with native inspired themes complementing contemporary interiors.
Mesa has since expanded into 17 branches in the country’s prime tourist spots including Boracay, Cebu, Davao and in malls such as Greenbelt 5 in Makati and SM Supermalls.
Mesa Filipino Moderne was established in 2009 by co-owners Cuneta and husband Senator Kiko Pangilinan.
