Shadow Ace continues to make Filipinos proud as he successfully received four yesses from the judges of China’s Beyond Show. Shadow Ace’s performance last Sunday also earned a standing ovation from the Chinese audience.
JSTV China’s four Beyond Show judges gave “Shadow Ace” Philip Galit and his “Shadow Mom” Evangeline and “Shadow Dad” Gerry the unanimous yes votes to send the Filipino act through to the semifinals round of the world championship talent series.
Two judges even asked Shadow Ace to teach them how to do his act – and the judges came off saying it was not as easy as it looked.
Shadow Ace went to China upon the invitation of JSTV China after seeing the Filipino shadow puppeteer on Asia’s Got Talent. Beyond Show chose his act to be the Philippines’ representative to compete against acts from other countries.

Shadow Ace first came to the world’s attention for his Golden Buzzer-earning audition on the 2018 edition of Asia’s Got Talent. Shadow Ace Philip Galit reached the finals of the competition.
Shadow Ace mastered his shadow play finger puppet act as he was growing up in Calatagan, Batangas. His home did not have electricity and so he entertained himself with hand shadow plays.
Good News Pilipinas talked to Shadow Ace about his new stage on China’s Beyond Show ahead of the June 23 evening (Manila Time) airing of Episode 10.
Good News Pilipinas (GNP): After getting the world’s attention on Asia’s Got Talent (Shadow Ace reached the Finals) and now Beyond Show, what do you want to tell Filipinos?
Shadow Ace (SA): Since nag umpisa po ang talent ko sa kawalan ng kuryente at palaging pag ba brownout, naging inspirasyon ko po ito at naging creative imbes na palaging magreklamo sa hirap ng buhay. (I started developing my talent amidst power outages. The brownouts serves as my inspiration to be creative instead of complaining about life.)
Habang may buhay may pag asa. At kailangan po ikaw rin ang hahanap ng ilaw sa kadiliman. Dahil “Dreams begin in the Dark.” Yan po ang motto ko. (There is always hope. And you need to find your own light amidst darkness. Because “Dreams begin in the Dark.” That’s my motto.)
At kung wala pong naniniwala sa kakayahan mo, wag kang titigil magtiwala at manalig sa Diyos (And if no one believes in your talent, don’t stop, keep the faith and believe in God.)

Third time is the charm ika nga po nila. (Did you know I was rejected twice by Asia’s Got Talent before i was able to join the show? But I persisted. And I finally got in on the third try. I even got the Golden Buzzer! They say third time is the charm.)
GNP: What do you think are your chances at the upcoming semis?
SA: Malaki naman po kasi sabi nga po nila kaya daw po ako nainvite dun kasi po ako daw po ang pinaka interesting ang talent. And unique. (I think i have a good chance. The organizers themselves said I was invited because I was the most interesting talent and unique act.)
Shadow Ace is awaiting the Beyond Show call back for the semi-finals episode.
