Pinoy pop group SB19 has been nominated for the Best Southeast Asian Act in the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA).
The five-member boy group composed of Josh, Pablo, Stell, Ken, and Justin, made it to the list of nominees revealed on October 20, 2021, the lone Filipino act vying for the award in the 28th MTV EMA.
The Philippines’ SB19 will compete against five other artists nominated in the Best Southeast Asia Act category, including JJ Lin from Singapore, Ink Waruntorn from Thailand, K-ICM from Vietnam, Lyodra from Indonesia, and Naim Daniel from Malaysia.

The Filipino idols of the sensational boy band Soundbreak19 (SB19) shared the group’s recent nomination to fans who are called “A’TIN” (pronounced as “eighteen”).
“We are beyond happy to announce that we are nominated at the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards for the Best Southeast Asia Act category!” SB19 wrote in a Facebook post on October 21, 2021.
“Muli po nating iwagayway ang ating watawat, Pilipinas! Vote for us at Webplex – MTV EMA INTL – Hybrid Homepage until Nov 10.”
The 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards will be held live in Hungary on November 14 (November 15, Manila time) to celebrate the best music of the year and the biggest artists from across the globe.
SB19 earlier made history after being named a finalist in the 2021 Billboard Music Awards (BBMA), the first Filipino and Southeast Asian act to achieve recognition from the international awards body.
Filipino folk-pop band Ben & Ben, who released their first-ever song collaboration with SB19 in June, was nominated for the same award in last year’s edition of the MTV EMA.
