After departing CNN Philippines in January, Hizon now spearheads the GoodNewsPilipinas.com team with a vision to broaden storytelling horizons. Embracing multimedia platforms like podcasts, YouTube, TikTok, and reels, Hizon aims to amplify the reach of positive narratives.
Under his stewardship, plans are underway to launch the GNP Academy webinars and organize GNP events, fostering a community committed to celebrating Filipino achievements.
Reflecting on his enduring commitment, Hizon remarks, “My TV, online viewers, and social media friends know that I’ve always delivered news on the good in the Filipino, the beauty of the Philippines, and the success and inspirational stories of our kababayans worldwide. Even in my new career path, this will remain an advocacy I keep close to my heart.”
Returning to the Philippines in 2020 after 25 years abroad with BBC News and CNBC Business News, Hizon left an indelible mark on local broadcasting with his acclaimed show, ‘The Final Word with Rico Hizon.’ Garnering prestigious accolades, he was hailed as the Best News Presenter in Asia in the latest editions of the Asian TV Awards and the Asian Academy Creative Awards.
Following the cessation of operations at CNN Philippines in January, Hizon opted to continue his journey in the Philippines, poised to unveil another chapter in his illustrious career.
