“We know you’re home. We just thought that maybe we could sing something for you that while you’re home, this song could inspire you during this difficult times,” Ogie said at the start of the video posted on Facebook and Instagram on March 18, 2020, days after the Metro Manila and Luzon Island community quarantine took effect.
Netizens praised the couple’s use of their talent to inspire people with the song penned by Alcasid and first released in 2016.
Facebook user Villarama Ocampo Jonathan Martin posted in the video’s comments section, “This made me realize how important music and miss Regine Velasquez and other singers are, in our lives.. in the lowest and darkest time they bring light and inspiration .. Thank you for reminding us that God and Jesus will save us…”

These are the lyrics of “The Lord Is Our Savior”:
The Lord Is Our Savior
There are times when we just can’t go on
Fighting the fight just wasn’t enough
There are days when we can’t understand
Why nothing seems to be right
But everytime we go down to our knees
Suddenly we hear a voice as we pray
Telling our hearts that all we need is to be still
And remember that help is on the way
The Lord is our Saviour
He is our strength
He is the beginning and the end
He laid His life
So all of sins could be forgiven
This is how Jesus loves us all
Still there are moments
When we really don’t know
How to follow His will
Just how to keep still
Oh Lord we pray
That You would guide us
And lead us back
When we have gone astray
The Lord is our Saviour
He is our strength
He is the beginning and the end
He laid His life
So all of sins could be forgiven
This is how Jesus loves us all
In another video, Ogie Alcasid sang his composition “Di Ka Pababayaan”.
He started off the video with this message:
“Sana po ay okay kayo sa inyong mga pamamahay. Kundiman sana kayo po ay manatiling matatag ay iyong pong ating mga nasa hospital na may sakit at iyong magigiting na nasa frontline, dasal namin na kayo po ay laging matatag at laging nagagabayan ng ating panginoon. I just wanted to sing again for you if you don’t mind isinulat ko po itong awitin na ito about three years ago Sana po ay makainspire po ito sa inyo.”
Di Ka Pababayaan Lyrics:
Ang buhay ay sadyang ganyan
Madami Kang Pagdadaanan
Lagi na Lamang May Pagsubok
Para bang walang Katapusan
Mundo mo at guling gulo
Pagod na ang puso mo
Ang Iyong Mata’y Iyong buksan
Sa isang katotohanan
Hindi ka Pababayaan
Hindi ka tatalikuran
Ang lahat ng ito’y May hangganan
At hindi mo kailangang labanan
Magtiwala ka kaibigan
Laging mayroong maaasahan
Hindi ka Pababayaan
Kailanman.
Hindi ka Pababayaan
Hindi ka tatalikuran
Ang lahat ng ito’y May hangganan
At hindi mo kailangang labanan
Magtiwala ka kaibigan
Laging mayroong maaasahan
Hindi ka Pababayaan
Kailanman
