Rebisco-Philippines Men’s Volleyball Team finished strong with a bronze medal win at the 2019 Thailand Open Volleyball Championships.
Rebisco-Philippines was able to steal the game and scored an upset against Thai-Denmark Saraburi, 22-25, 27-29, 25-18, 25-18, 26-24, at the competitions held at the Wee Sommay Gymnasium in Sisakaet.
The Philippine team redeemed itself from two set losses and went on to win the game against the favored home team.
Marck Espejo was unstoppable during the last three sets, providing defense for the team with five blocks.
Leading the National Team’s rally, Espejo furnished 35 points while teammate Bryan Bagunas worked on adding additional 24 points.
Alnakran Abdilla and Kim Malabunga of Rebisco-Philippines were also double-digits finishers, having 19 and 12 points, respectively.
The Rebisco-Philippines men’s volleyball team played in the Thailand tournament in preparation for the 30th Southeast Asian Games to be hosted by the Philippines later this year.
