Filipino radiographer Apollo Exconde has been given the “Incredible Customer Service Award” by London’s Croydon Health Services NHS Trust (Trust).
Exconde was cited by the Trust for his professionalism and caring manner that helps patients better deal with MRI scans. The Filipino radiographer is described as someone who “quickly builds close relationships with his patients, often being the calming voice when people are anxious and often terrified about the claustrophobic nature of the scan procedure. He clearly discusses the benefits of MRI and is cheerful, kind and patient.”
The De La Salle Health Sciences Institute graduate was also cited for designing an MRI Scan model for the LEGO Ideas Project to help claustrophobics, first timers, plus sized and anxious children get through their scans and create a new patient experience about MRI.
To date, Apollo Exconde’s LEGO Ideas Project Open MRI has reportedly gathered the support of over 1300 people on his way to the 10 thousand supporters target to have his design adopted by LEGO worldwide.
Apollo Exconde was selected as a standout service provider from over 300 nominations from across the Croydon Health Services NHS Trust system.
