International musical star Rachelle Ann Go is once again on stage reprising the role of Fantine in the West End run of the popular stage musical, Les Miserables, at Sondheim Theater in London.
The Filipino singer announced on March 3, 2020, her return on Les Miserables via her Instagram photos of her wearing her costume as Fantine with the caption, “I’m back, last night was fun and nerve wracking.”
Go added that she will be blonde in the next 7 weeks then back in July. Rachelle Ann Go is playing the role of Fantine until April 18.
Rachelle Ann Go’s international musical theater credits include playing Gigi Van Tranh of the hit musical Miss Saigon, where she won Best Supporting Actress in a Musical. Go also won Best Actress for portraying Eliza Hamilton in the original West End production of Hamilton. It was in 2015 when the musical theater actress made her debut as Fantine.
Filipino Broadway royalty Lea Salonga also played Fantine for the Les Miserables 25th anniversary production.
Esang de Torres who was then 9 years old, played the role Little Cosette in Les Miserables Singapore.
Multi-awarded Filipina actress Joanna Ampil is also starring in the United Kingdom staging of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s hit musical, South Pacific.
