The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) has been named the 2016 Best Stock Exchange in Southeast Asia by the 10th Annual Alpha Southeast Asia Deal & Solution Awards 2016.
The Southeast Asia-focused investment magazine awards announced the PSE’s winning of the Marquee Award, along with 33 other awardees and 20 borrower/issuer awards.
This is the third time in the last four years that PSE bagged the award. Aside from winning this year, the PSE was also the recipient of the Best Stock Exchange in Southeast Asia award in 2013 and 2015.
PSE President and CEO Hans B. Sicat was quoted in a PSE media release saying, “We are pleased that Alpha Southeast Asia and the issuers and investors they surveyed for this award value the efforts of the PSE.”
“We were cited for introducing more products and services for the issuers and the investing public and highlighting corporate governance in our role as regulator,” according to PSE.
THE PSE chief added, “We are grateful to all our stakeholders for their support which allowed us to achieve our milestones this year.”
The Best Stock Exchange recognition will be presented to the PSE on January 25, 2017 in Malaysia.
The annual Alpha Southeast Asia Deal & Solution Awards uses a fair, robust and informative methodology and after adding a number of additional criteria to existing awards to tighten its eligibility among both, local and foreign banks in Southeast Asia.
