Philippine film “Tutop (Covered Candor)” earned several recognitions for its team in festivals held during the lockdown in the United States, Italy, and Istanbul.
“Tutop”, a story of a father whose family secret forced him to give in to the demands of his sick son, was written and directed by Marvin C. Gabas.
The suspense drama-thriller film won Best Feature Film (Horror) at the Istanbul Film Awards in Turkey in May and Best Horror Film at the Oniros Film Awards in Italy in March.
Covered Candor’s producer and lead character Romm Burlat won Best Actor for the month of April at the Actors Awards of Los Angeles, California, a monthly competition for actors worldwide.
Faye Tangonan, the 2018 Ms. Universe International titlist, won Best Supporting Actress also at the Oniros Film Awards in Italy.
The ROMMantic Entertainment Productions and KnightVision Entertainment Production is also vying for top awards at the Rome Independent Prisma International Film Awards in Italy.
Another Filipino short film, “Hele” by Jek Jumawan recently won the Best Actress award for Maricel Balderama at the Sweden Film Awards.
