Imusicapella, the church choir of Imus Cathedral in Cavite, Philippines, has once again claimed a prestigious Grand Prix title in Europe. The choir triumphed at the 2024 International Baltic Sea Choir Competition, one of six hosts of the world-renowned European Grand Prix for Choral Singing (EGP).
Led by conductor Tristan Calliston Ignacio, Imusicapella outperformed seven other choirs from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and Spain. The 7th edition of the competition took place from September 20 to 22 at the Dzintari Concert Hall in Jūrmala, Latvia.

A professional international jury awarded Imusicapella 97.75 points, earning them the Jūrmala City Cup and a €3,500 cash prize for first place. The group also received the Audience Award from both live and online spectators.
Although their win qualifies them for the 2025 EGP in Tolosa, Spain, Imusicapella had already secured a spot after their victory at the 2024 Béla Bartók International Choir Competition in Hungary. The EGP slot was instead awarded to the second-placer, SOLA of the Latvian Academy of Culture. The University of Latvia JUVENTUS placed third.
