Philippine restaurant ‘Gino’s Brick Oven Pizza’ has been named as one of the Top 50 Best Pizzas in the World.
The international travel content media platform Big 7 Travel, picked the Katipunan, Quezon City-based Italian restaurant as its top 34 in an updated annual list released on October 28, 2020.
The Big 7 Travel described the Filipino made pizza as a “never dull meal” because of its home-grown dough resulting in a “perfect crust” cooked at a perfect temperature and tasty toppings.
“Their pizzas are cooked in a traditional Italian-style with dough that has been baked in house and proves for at least a day,”
“They then cook the pizza within a couple of minutes at 400C which results in a perfect crust. The toppings are what really bring their pizzas alive. Never a dull meal in here,” the feature described.
The Filipino restaurant overtook some of the best pizza places known in their respective countries such as ‘nNea Pizza’ in Amsterdam, Netherlands, ‘Emma’ in Rome, Italy, ‘Basilicó’ in Bratislava, Slovakia, ‘Gazzo’ in Berlin, Germany, and ‘Lilla Napoli’ in Falkenberg, Sweden among others.
This year’s list of top 50 best pizzas in the world includes only 5 places from Asia including Gino’s Brick Oven Pizza, ‘Motorino’ in Hong Kong, ‘Proof Pizza + Wine’ in Malaysia, ‘Pizza Studio Tamaki’ in Japan, and ‘Pizza Fabbrica’ in Singapore.
Gino’s Brick Oven Pizza went on social media to thank their loyal customers for their milestone on October 28.
