The Philippines’ Daumier “Dom” Corilla has made history as the first Filipino to win the prestigious Mister Global title, raising the Philippine flag in Thailand at the 2024 pageant. Corilla’s victory marks a significant milestone, being the first time a Filipino has claimed the coveted crown since the competition began a decade ago.
The 29-year-old pageant veteran bested 31 other candidates from around the world and emerged victorious during the coronation night held on October 7 in Bangkok.
The model-actor also showcased Filipino ingenuity during the national costume with his Filipino god of war Apolaki-inspired garb designed by Edwin Uy.

Aside from acing all the segments of the competitions, Corilla wowed the judges and the audience with his eloquence during the Top 11 speech round where he championed the Filipino Bayahihan.
“The Philippine culture that I want to exercise globally is Bayanihan, which means one with your country, one with your community, and in simple terms, love your neighbor. Because if you start loving your neighbor, imagine the world peace that we can achieve, the conflicts and wars that we can prevent. If we apply this culturally all around the world, we can really make a difference,” he stated.

The newly crowned pageant king also emphasized the importance of accessibility to good education during the final question-and-answer portion.
“I would advocate for quality education. Because if we have good quality education, we can solve a lot of our problems like poverty, crime rate, and climate change. But not only quality education. We also need accessibility to get a good quality education. Thank you,” the Aviation Administration degree holder shared.

- Winner – Dom Corilla, Philippines
- First Runner-up – Manuel Romo, Spain
- Second Runner-up – Favour Ogbuok, Nigeria
- Third Runner-up – Patrick Pho-ngam Forstner, Thailand
- Fourth Runner-up – Luiz Henrique Mascarenhas, Brazil
Corilla previously represented the Philippines in the 20th edition of the Manhunt International pageant in 2020 where he only reached the Top 10. With his success in the Mister Global pageant, he has now joined the list of Filipino pageant titleholders who brought honors and pride to the Philippines this year by winning their respective competitions.
Licensed mechanical engineer and event host Jupheter Franco of General Santos City won the Mister Continental World 2024 title in Thailand in June 2024.
Digital creator and TV host Ryan Kristopher Sacopon from Batangas followed Franco’s feat by winning Mister Culture International 2024 in Indonesia.
In August, mining engineer and college professor Nathaniel Tiu of Cebu claimed the Mister Earth International 2024 crown during the pageant held in Colombia.
