The Philippines’ Bela Padilla has been nominated for Best Actress at the 15th Seoul International Drama Awards.
The Filipino-British actress-model was lauded for essaying the role of a conflicted lawyer named Juris in the ABS-CBN crime drama series “Sino ang Maysala: Mea Culpa.”
The 29-year-old TV and movie actor and screenwriter will compete for best actress award against Si-Eun Park, Hyo-Jin Kong, and Ji-Eun Kim of South Korea, Zuzana Stivinova of Czech Republic, Shu-qin Ke from Taiwan, and Britain’s Imelda Staunton from the UK drama “Flesh and Bone” who is known for playing the character of Prof. Dolores Umbridge in the movie Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
The multi-awarded actor Krista Sullivan, popularly known as Bela Padilla, went on Twitter on Thursday, August 6, 2020, to acknowledge the nomination.
“To be nominated with Ms. Hyo Jin and professor Umbridge herself!!!!! is honestly the most kilig part for me,” Padilla tweeted.

The Pinoy crime series Sino ang Maysala: Mea Culpa, aired from April to August 2019 in ABS-CBN, will also represent the Philippines in the award ceremony under the serial drama category and will go against under entries from Brazil, China, Colombia, and Taiwan, and Turkey.
The Seoul International Drama Awards ceremony will be live-streamed on September 15.
In 2019, GMA Network’s multimedia star Alden Richards took home the Asian Star Prize at the 14th Seoul International Drama Awards in South Korea while his fellow Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo bagged the same award in 2016.
