The Philippine Women’s National Football Team scored the biggest jump in the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Rankings after a terrific performance in the Olympic Qualifiers this year in Doha, Qatar.
The Malditas finished the second round of the Qualifiers with six points after two wins and one defeat. They beat Iran 2-nil and Palestine 7-nil but lost to Chinese Taipei 2-4.
The impressive performance means the Malditas move seven places up to 67th place from their previous ranking and now hold the best FIFA world ranking the team has ever had.
The team keeps their 13th rank in Asia while also retaining their 5th place ranking in Southeast Asia.
According to the FIFA report released July 12, the Philippines was able to notch the biggest move by ranks among all participating teams in the women’s game.
