Philippine Airlines has been named the most punctual airline in the Asia-Pacific region for 2025, according to global aviation analytics firm Cirium.
Cirium’s 2025 On-Time Performance Review showed that Philippine Airlines achieved an on-time arrival rate of 83.12%, the highest among Asia-Pacific carriers. This marks the first time the Philippine flag carrier has claimed the regional top spot.
The recognition is part of Cirium’s annual review, now in its 17th year, which analyzes flight data from more than 600 real-time sources worldwide. A flight is considered on time when it arrives within 14 minutes and 59 seconds of its scheduled gate arrival.
Cirium named regional winners alongside its global rankings. While Aeromexico earned the world’s most punctual global airline title, Philippine Airlines emerged as the Asia-Pacific leader, placing the Philippines on the regional aviation map for reliability.
In a statement, Philippine Airlines said punctuality remains a core commitment to passengers, supported by close coordination across flight operations, engineering, airport services, and ground handling teams.
“This achievement reflects the discipline, professionalism, and teamwork of our entire organization, particularly our frontline teams who operate our flights safely and reliably every day,” said Lucio C. Tan III, President and Chief Operating Officer of PAL Holdings, Inc.
The airline added that strong collaboration with private sector partners and continued support from government partners also played an important role in achieving the milestone.
Cirium noted that maintaining consistent on-time performance requires strong planning and coordination, especially in complex operating environments like Asia-Pacific, where airlines face weather disruptions, congestion, and infrastructure limits.
For Philippine Airlines, the recognition sets a higher benchmark as it works to sustain reliability and strengthen its position as a globally recognized airline delivering world-class service.
