The Philippines’ islands of Palawan have once again been listed among the Top Islands in Asia and the World by the prestigious Travel + Leisure (T+L) magazine in New York.
Palawan, the Best Island in the World in 2020, placed 5th in the Top Islands in Asia list this year, with a rating of 88.63.
The tropical paradise also ranked 19th in the world category of the same T+L survey released on September 8, 2021.
“The Philippines’ Palawan not only made this regional list again at No. 5 (though down from No. 1 last year) but also earned a spot in the World’s Best Islands list,” the magazine said.
The international magazine also recommended Palawan for “unrivaled diving” together with Koh Samui in Thailand.
“When they arrive, guests find mountains as well as white sand beaches washed by the Sula and South China seas. Resorts range from eco-chic stays to the spectacular Amanpulo resort, accessible only by private plane,” it added.
“Its 58 casitas and villas are nestled in the lush hillside and along the beach; each villa has its own chef and butler.”
The T+L survey asked readers to weigh in on their travel experiences around the globe and to share their opinions. Readers voted and rated islands according to their activities and sights, natural attractions and beaches, food, friendliness, and overall value.
World-famous Palawan and prime destinations Boracay and Cebu were also previously featured in the World’s Best Awards of T+L magazine.
