Filipino-American singers Olivia Rodrigo, Bruno Mars, and Bella Poarch have bagged top awards in this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Teenage pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo won three awards after receiving multiple nominations and leading fellow artists of Filipino descent in the event.
Rodrigo was named the Female Artist of the Year and Best New Pop Artist, following the singer-songwriter’s recent success in Billboard’s Women in Music Awards.
The teen pop star’s record-breaking single “good 4 u” also won in the “TikTok Bop of the Year” socially-voted category, while American singer Camila Cabello won the Best Cover Song award for her version of Rodrigo’s hit.
Multiple Grammy winner Bruno Mars and American artist Anderson .Paak of the Silk Sonic duo was named the Best Duo/Group of the Year. The duo’s collab single “Leave The Door Open” won R&B Song of the Year, while their album “An Evening With Silk Sonic” was named R&B Album of the Year.
Filipina-American social media sensation and singer Bella Poarch was voted the winner of the Social Star Award.
The ninth annual iHeartRadio Music Awards celebrated this year’s most-played artists and songs on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app in a star-studded award show held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on March 22, 2022.
