The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) has produced its very first TV drama that showcases the native Filipino culture and family values.
“Project Destination”, the NCCA-produced drama special set to air on GMA Network, was announced on February 1, the start of National Arts Month.
Part of the cast are indie film actors Yul Servo, Royce Cabrera, Kapuso stars Kate Valdez and Migo Adecer, and more.
Prior to Project Destination, GMA Network had already produced and aired native and pre-colonial-themed TV series in the past.
The “epikserye” Amaya (2011), topbilled by Kapuso Primetime Queen and inspirational celebrity mom, Marian Rivera, tells the story of a “binukot” princess in the pre-Hispanic Philippines.
In 2019, Bianca Umali played the titular role in GMA7 ‘s Sahaya, which highlighted the life and plight of the Sama Dilaut tribe in southern Philippines.
Catch the premiere of Project Destination on February 15, 5:45 PM, on GMA NewsTV.
