Miss Earth titleholder Karen Ibasco is sharing her experience as a COVID-19 survivor to help the public be more informed of how to deal with the disease.
The Philippines’ fourth Miss Earth pageant winner posted her YouTube Vlog “My COVID Journey: I am now a COVID Survivor!” on September 30, 2020, and announced that she contracted the virus and survived.
“This exactly how I feel like now that I’m a COVID survivor!” the Filipina beauty queen said on her Instagram post of a beach photo that came with a list of COVID Testing Centers.
“I had been quiet on social media but I know I have to share my journey so others will be informed with what to do if ever they get infected,” she added.
The Pinay medical physicist-turned-pageant titleholder shared that she is recovering now after her whole family got infected.
“We (my whole family) did all the precautions but sad to say we still had it. Most probably we got it from deliveries.
“After 3 weeks, my body is still recovering but slowly I’m getting my strength back,” the UN Youth Climate Summit representative assured.

The beauty queen-vlogger shared her COVID-19 experience in her latest YouTube video to educate the public on how to deal with the respiratory illness.
Aside from asking the audience to strictly follow health protocols, the environmental advocate from the University of Santo Tomas who represented the Philippines at the 1st UN Youth Climate Summit in New York, also encouraged the viewers, especially the COVID-19 patients, to stay calm and believe in the power of prayers.
“Do not forget to pray because, during this hard time, you have to remember that God is sovereign,” Ibasco uttered.
“All we have to do is to pray in our situation and to really submit to His will.
“I know life is so uncertain but even though I don’t know what’s gonna happen tomorrow, knowing that I have God is enough for me and it’s good that you know where your faith is based and founded on,” said the Miss Earth 2017 winner.
Other celebrities who inspired others after surviving the COVID-19 ordeal include GMA Kapuso actor-director Michael V who also shared his experience and created art tribute for medical frontliners.
