Meranie Gadiana Rahman reps Philippines in Mrs. World 2021 in Sri Lanka

Reigning Mrs. Philippines World 2019/2020 Meranie Gadiana Rahman is all set to represent the country in the finals of the upcoming Mrs. World pageant set to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The Filipina beauty queen-philanthropist shared on social media that she will be competing for the crown in the most prestigious pageant for married women Mrs. World 2021 this June.

“I am proud to represent my country Philippines as Mrs Philippines World 🇵🇭 at upcoming oldest and most prestigious pageant in the world “Mrs. World” along with my pageant sisters from other countries,” Meranie Gadiana Rahman wrote in her Facebook account.

Rahman will take with her the advocacy to push for Postpartum Depression (PPD) awareness as a mother who has experienced the mood disorder herself. The Talisayan, Misamis Oriental native is the founder of the non-profit “You Are Loved Foundation for Postpartum Depression” which she started as a means to empower women who are suffering from PPD and promote more understanding of the disease common among new mothers.

“Feeling isolated, helpless, with low self-esteem are some of the warning signs of depression and postpartum depression,” Rahman explains.

“I strongly believe that by setting up goals and having positive attitude one can come out of postpartum depression and can become empowered to empower others,” she adds.

The Hawaii-based Filipina won the title of Mrs. Philippines World 2019 in Paris, France, and competed at the Mrs. World pageant held in Las Vegas, Nevada as Mrs. Guam World 2019.

Meranie Gadiana Rahman will now vie for the crown representing the Philippines in the Mrs. World 2021 pageant to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in June this year.

Another Filipino-American beauty queen, Ki’ilani Arruda of Kauai, Hawaii was crowned Miss Teen USA 2020 in Memphis, Tennessee while Binibining Pilipinas 2020/2021 candidate Samantha Bernardo of Palawan has just earned the right to represent the country in Miss Grand International (MGI) pageant in Bangkok in March.

Filipina celebrity Giselle Sanchez was also recently named the “Noble Queen of the Universe International” in the second edition of the advocacy-driven worldwide pageant for family-oriented women.
