Filipino dance group Mastermind’s cover of BTS’ new hit ‘Dynamite’ impressed the South Korean boy band superstars.
Mastermind uploaded the short dance cover to TikTok on August 22, 2020, featuring members Jester Brozas, Ericson Apelado, and David Inere.
BTS praised the dance group’s creative choreography. “Wow!!!” the official account of BTS commented on Mastermind’s video.
The Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) grand finalist immediately took to social media and shared a screenshot of the K-pop group’s reaction to their dance video.
“BTS NOTICED OUR DANCE COVER ON TIKTOK!!” Mastermind announced on the post, followed by the Philippine flag emoji and a series of purple hearts.
Fans of the Pinoy dance group and the famous South Korean boy band alike flooded Mastermind’s Instagram post with congratulations and compliments.
Filipino netizens heavily anticipated the song release from BTS this month. Dynamite made Youtube history as the No. 1 most viewed music video in the first 24 hours of its release. BTS’ new Youtube record surpassed South Korean girl group BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That”, which garnered 86.3 million views upon its release.
Filipina performer Andree “AC” Bonifacio was the 2nd place winner for her dance cover of the same hit on BLACKPINK’s official contest. The winning entry also went viral in July, gaining a million views after being posted less than a day on YouTube.
Another Kpop girl group praised Filipino talent. Red Velvet’s Wendy was reportedly awed at Ben&Ben’s beautiful singing voice after a fan recommended the Filipino indie band.
Ben&Ben also topped South Korea’s music chart, Melon, earlier this year.
Watch the BTS dance cover here and SEND CONGRATULATIONS to Mastermind for their impressive performance that got noticed by the K-pop superstars.
