Concert King Martin Nievera led OPM artists in the singing of “Dakila Ka, Bayani Ka”, a tribute song for Frontliners.
OPM artists, vocalists, and musicians volunteered to sing the tribute song.
Martin Nievera was joined by Michael V, Carol Banawa, Zebedee Zuñiga, and DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones, who is herself a COVID-19 survivor.
The song thanks frontliners as modern-day heroes and pays tribute to those who have died while fighting the coronavirus disease.
The second stanza of the song includes prayers for the frontliners:
“Dakila Ka, Bayani Ka” was written by songwriter-producer Arnie Mendaros and arranged by Albert Tamayo. The music video was uploaded by DepEd Philippines on April 17, 2020.
Marami pong salamat!” posted songwriter Arnie Mendaros on social media.
