Martin Nievera once again proved why he is called the Philippines’ Concert King as he goes live every night with “Martin In The House” to entertain Filipinos during the lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus disease.
Nievera, who is also under lockdown and one of the celebrities who is encouraging people to stay home during the quarantine, is seen every night engaging with his viewers while singing song requests with his sister Vickie and other celebrity guests such as Broadway royalty Lea Salonga and NatGeo Ambassadors Ben and Ben.
“We’re trying to make a difference, spreading good vibes, happiness, maybe raise some money to change some lives. We are trying to contribute to the solution,” Martin Nievera said in an interview with Rico Hizon in CNN Philippines’ The Final Word on May 1, 2020.
Hizon, who returned to the Philippines after 25 years as an international broadcast journalist for BBC and CNBC, in turn guested on Martin In The House on May 20 and even sang a duet of “Each Day With You” with the Concert King himself.
“BREAKING SONG! This is it! My singing career is on the line. My big break! A dream duet (Each Day With You) with no less than the Concert King! Martin Nievera – on his Martin In The House program. Enjoy!” Rico posted on his Facebook.
Netizens also expressed their gratitude towards the singer and his sister for doing the show every night.
“Ever grateful for you and your dedication to entertain! 🎤🎵💜❤️” Joy Dollente-Bustos said in the Real-time comments.
“Thank you so much for your music every night, Martin and Vicki! Love you Quarantwins!💖💖💖💖💖” also commented.
At the end of his Facebook Live show, Martin reminds viewers to stay healthy, stay safe and stay home.
Martin Nievera together with Pops Fernandez headlined the first episode of Musikahan Huntahan, the 2nd wave of the Facebook Live concert fundraiser of Ryan Cayabyab’s Bayanihan Musikahan. He also led OPM artists in the singing of “Dakila Ka, Bayani Ka”, a tribute song for Frontliners.
