Filipino skate champion Margielyn Didal started the year 2020 with a strong performance that won her the bronze medal at the first-ever Women’s Open at Skate Tampa in Florida.
Skateboarding and Roller Sports Association of the Philippines announced on social media the 3rd place finish for Didal at the 26th Annual Tampa Pro Competition in Florida, USA held on March 2 (Philippine Time).
“We are proud that Margielyn Arda Didal represented the Philippines on the Women’s podium with a 3rd place finish,” posted the Philippine skateboarders’ group.
The association also asked for encouragement for Didal and the members of Team Philippines who are set to compete in 6 Olympic Qualifiers starting this March.
“Cheer her on, set her on fire and include the team in your prayers as they stay the course on 6 Olympic Qualifiers starting this month. Mabuhay ang Filipino skater!”
Margielyn Didal won her gold medal at the 30th Southeast Asian Games in December 2019. Just a month prior to the biennial meet, Didal made her mark in the skateboarding world by winning two championships in Los Angeles.
