Filipino skate champion Margielyn Didal boosted her Olympics hope after winning in two skateboarding championships on the same day in Los Angeles, California.
The 2018 Asian Games gold medalist for the Philippines topped two events – the 15+ Women’s Street and the Best Trick Street – at the 8th Annual Exposure Skate held at Huntington Beach, California on November 1-2.
Exposure Skate is considered the biggest women’s skateboarding event in the world right now and serves as a fundraiser for survivors of domestic violence.
Also on November 2, the 20-year-old world-class skater won the Best Trick event in the Ladies Day Skate at the prestigious The Berrics, also in California.
Margielyn Didal’s winnings for the day totaled $15,000.
Didal’s three wins in two events help her bid to up her Olympic ranking in competitions coming up this November 10 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Margielyn Didal will also compete for the Philippines at the Skate Events of the 30th SEA Games in Tagaytay, Cavite.
Margielyn Didal gave the Philippines a gold medal in the Women’s Street event at the 8th Asian Games in 2018, where fellow national athletes weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz and golfer Yuka Saso also won gold medals.
