Marcelito Pomoy, the Filipino singer who gained world fame with his multiple singing voices, posted a cover of Michael Jackson’s “Heal the World” as a healing song for COVID-19 victims.
The America’s Got Talent: Champions (AGT Champions) 3rd Runner Up Winner uploaded the “Heal The World” video on March 18, 2020, on his YouTube account.
Marcelito Pomoy started off the video with a prayer for a cure to be found, for the protection of health workers, for the guidance of police and soldiers, courage and strength during the quarantine to stop the spread of COVID-19.
(Lord God, I’m here in front of you, giving thanks to all the blessings you have given me. Lord at this point in time I am humbly reaching out to you asking help hoping that there will be medicine to those affected by coronavirus.)
(Lord, please guide us, all your children in this world. I know You are the only One who can solve this crisis. Guide every nurse and doctor, frontliners, who give first aid to those who are sick. To those police officers and army, for they guide and assist people to be safe in their homes.)
(Lord, give us courage and strength to fight the virus, praying that every child of God will help each other to combat the virus and hoping that there will be a medicine that can solve this problem. Lord, we entrust ourselves to you.)
(I know You are the giver of life and all of this we will give our faith and service to you. To all the blessings, in our daily lives, I know that lots of people will surely be affected due to lockdown, not only in the Philippines but the whole world.)
(We truly entrust ourselves to you and all your children, oh Lord! Guide them in their daily lives. Lord, keep us safe in every danger we face in this world. To those people affected by the virus, heal them, Lord, for You are the Savior of mankind. Thank you and God Bless!)
Pomoy’s cover video includes these onscreen messages:
“The song appeals to humans to stand up and help the world to heal in order to make a better life for the entire human race. In this challenging time where every move seems so scary, fear is unfathomable and growing big as COVID-19 invade our country. Let us join our hands to be compassionate and bring peace to our community”.
There are also photos of written messages written for the frontliners in the video.
“Heal The World” was performed, composed, and produced by King of Pop, Michael Jackson, in 1991.
The song was covered by many artists such as Wayne Wonder, Aled Jones, Alana Marie, Helene Fischer, Gardiner Sister, and many more.
Heal the World lyrics here:
“Heal The World”
Michael Jackson
There’s a place in your heart
And I know that it is love
And this place could be much brighter than tomorrow
And if you really try
You’ll find there’s no need to cry
In this place you’ll feel there’s no hurt or sorrow
There are ways to get there
If you care enough for the living
Make a little space
Make a better place
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me
If you want to know why
There’s a love that cannot lie
Love is strong
It only cares for joyful giving
If we try we shall see
In this bliss, we cannot feel
Fear or dread
We stop existing and start living
Then it feels that always
Love’s enough for us growing
So make a better world
Make a better world
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me
And the dream we were conceived in
Will reveal a joyful face
And the world we once believed in
Will shine again in grace
Then why do we keep strangling life
Wound this earth, crucify its soul
Though it’s plain to see
This world is heavenly
Be God’s glow
We could fly so high
Let our spirits never die
In my heart I feel you are all my brothers
Create a world with no fear
Together we’ll cry happy tears
See the nations turn their swords into plowshares
We could really get there
If you cared enough for the living
Make a little space
To make a better place
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me
You and for me (11x)
Heal the world we live in, save it for our children (4x)
