Manila-based Asian Social Institute (ASI) is celebrating its 60th year Rose Diamond Jubilee by organizing various fundraisers to sustain its youth action projects.
ASI graduates and senior students of its doctoral program (Applied Cosmic Anthropology, Ph.D., ACA) are presenting a Dinner For A Cause, an art exhibit auction, and a book launching to raise Php10M for youth activities in the institute’s partner communities “Children and Youth in Action for a Sustainable Future (CYASF)”, continue its production of ASI Mabuhay Balls (low-cost technology for maintaining the cleanliness of rivers, lakes, and waterways), and other agricultural projects.
The dinner fundraiser is scheduled on February 11, 2023, at the Century Park Hotel Seafood Restaurant at 6:00 p.m. The venue and food are sponsored by Councilor Bernardito C. Ang, a Graduate of ASI Master of Science in Sociology with a specialization in Transformative Politics.
ASI is marking its anniversary year from October 2022 to October 2023 with the theme, “ASI @60, Celebrating Integrity of Creation”. The graduate and postgraduate school of Social Science aims to form and train leaders in Asia to facilitate the self-empowerment of grassroots leaders to imbue them with the values and principles of Christian social teachings – respect for the integrity of the creation of which human beings are a part, common good, social justice, respect for the richness of differentiation (uniqueness of persons, bio-diversity, religious and cultural diversity), subsidiarity principle, solidarity, and communion.
“ASI intends to amplify the good that is being done in different domains for we believe that good is more powerful than evil and ensure the work of research and publications, and social development programs of ASI addressing the needs of our grassroots communities that will sustain and bring progress and prosperity to our country,” the ASI anniversary media release said.
