The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), the private operator of Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1), has bagged the Silver Stevie Award in this year’s Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards for its coronavirus disease (COVID-19) response in the Philippines.
The LRMC won in the COVID-19 Response category: Most Valuable Corporate Response during the 8th annual Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards virtual ceremony held on July 14, 2021.
LRMC was commended for its initiatives during the pandemic and ensuring the well-being of its employees while adhering to health and safety protocols to protect the safety of Filipino commuters using public transport.
“We are honored and grateful for this recognition of our efforts to raise the standards for public transport through our commitment to serve with excellence and keep everyone safe especially during this pandemic,” LRMC President and CEO Juan F. Alfonso said in a statement.
“This award is a result of teamwork, and we dedicate this to the Filipino commuters,” Alfonso added.
The Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards are the only awards program to recognize innovation in business throughout the entire Asia-Pacific region.
LRMC received its first Stevie Award in 2019 for its Automated Train Operations Management System (ATOMS) which was developed internally to enable strategic traffic management and efficient use of resources to meet passenger needs.
The National Basketball Association (NBA) Philippines’ and smartphone brand vivo’s short docu-film “Ball In The New Normal” starring Filipino ballers bagged top prizes in this year’s Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.
Philippine malls Greenhills, Tiendesitas, and Estancia, together bagged four bronze medals at the 7th annual Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.
