Three basketball legends from the Philippines, Leo Avenido, Jerick Cañada, and Bobby Ray Parks Jr., were named to the 2019 ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) All-time Top 10 players list.
The Filipino ball players were announced among the professional league’s Top 10 Players of All-Time during the 2019-2020 ABL Season launch on October 10 at the Conrad Manila.
ABL said the players were selected after evaluating their individual achievements, championships, years of service, and impact in the basketball league.
Bobby Ray Parks Jr. was acknowledged as the only ABL player who won three consecutive Local Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards, ABL Champion (2018) where he was also the 2018 Finals MVP.
Jerick Cañada was cited as a two-time ABL Champion (2012, 2014) and as the 2014 Finals MVP.
Leo Avenido was awarded as the ABL Champion (2013), the 2012 Local MVP, #5 in the ABL Scoring List, and holing a Lifetime Achievement Award.
The three Filipino basketball legends emerged in the Top 10 selected from among the Top 40 players of the past 9 ABL seasons, which were then reduced to 21 nominees.
The Final 21 List was subjected to fan voting on the ABL website. The combined fan votes and ABL criteria were used to identify the Final 10.
The Top 10 ABL Players of All-Time are as follows in alphabetical order:

- Jerick Cañada
- Chris Charles
- Marcus Elliott
- Attaporn Lertmalaiporn
- Bobby Ray Parks Jr.
- Steven Thomas
- Wong Wei Long
- Mario Wuysang
The Top 10 ABL Players of All-Time were honored during an awarding ceremony during the ABL 10th season launch.
San Miguel Alab Pilipinas will represent the Philippines at the 10th ASEAN Basketball League Season which begins on November 16. San Miguel Alab Pilipinas will be playing their first game against Mono Vampire on November 17.
The Philippine team is the 2017-2018 ABL Champion and gave the Philippines its third crown in the league after its 2013 and 2010 championships.
Earlier this year, San Miguel Beermen center June Mar Fajardo made Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) history as the First PBA player to have 5 Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards.
