Legendary DJ John Robinson will stage a series of Sanctuary Online Parties this July to benefit the online learning needs of the University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) Batch 2025 students.
DJ John Robinson, of super clubs Rumors, Juliana’s Tokyo, Velfarre, Planet Love After Hours, Cove Manila, and many more, broadcasts his “Sanctuary” online parties on Facebook and Twitch TV.
The United Kingdom-born disc jock will present his night of fun and music Live on July 24, 25, and 26 at 9 PM for the benefit of UPIS Batch 2025 students’ online learning.
With the new school year reopening amid the COVID 19 pandemic, new modes of learning have been identified as alternatives to face-to-face classes that have been discouraged.
UPIS principal Dr. Lorina Calingasan said the school will also shift to the remote mode of learning as it starts the academic year on September 15.
Dr. Calingasan said the school conducted a survey on UPIS Student Capability for Remote Learning which revealed that many do not have the basic infrastructure (e.g., tablet/laptop computer, internet connectivity) to be able to continue learning remotely.
“It is, however, our commitment that all UPIS students have the basic infrastructure to be able to take part in this remote mode of education hence, we humbly ask for your support for funds or laptop/tablet/wifi device donations for our 270 students who do not have their own device, and for 140 who do not have internet connectivity,” said the UPIS principal.
The UPIS Parent-Teacher Association is now seeking to provide for these students’ hardware and connectivity needs.
