International Broadway star Lea Salonga has been cast in the Broadway musical, Annie, to be staged this summer at the Hollywood Bowl.
Acknowledged worldwide for her powerful voice and perfect pitch, Salonga will essay the role of Grace Farrell, the surrogate mother to the character of Annie.
The Filipino actress and singer started her career in theater as little orphan Annie. Her social media post reveals Salonga’s welcoming of her new role in the musical.

Broadway World announced the casting of Salonga and other members of the musical, one of the longest-running shows in Broadway.
Salonga, currently starring in the Broadway show Once on This Island, is well-remembered in the Philippines for her performance of the hit song “Tomorrow” from Annie.
Salonga joins the staging of Annie, the classic story of a young girl in an orphanage looking for her family, as part of the year-long celebration of the works of Charles Strouse the tony-award winning composer of Annie.
