Filipino actress and TV host Kim Chiu has achieved a new milestone in her career in the entertainment industry after receiving international recognition in South Korea. The It’s Showtime host and proud Cebuana was recognized as Outstanding Asian Star at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2024 for her exemplary performance in the ABS-CBN TV and digital series, Linlang.
The Kapamilya star attended the awarding ceremony held at the Yeouido KBS Hall in Seoul last September 25 in her pink ethereal dress designed by Francis Libiran.
In her social media, Kim expressed gratitude to everyone who supported her.
“Beyond grateful to be recognized as the Most Outstanding Asian Star at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2024. [Sparkle, South Korean Flag, and Trophy Emojis] Honored to represent the Philippines on this incredible stage! [Philippine Flag Emoji],” the actress wrote in her Instagram post.
“Thank you AbsCbn, @starmagicphils , @dreamscapeph #Linlang family and to all my supporters. [Red Heart, South Korean Flag, Folded Hands, and Philippine Flag Emojis] 매우 감사합니다. #seoulinternationaldramaawards,” she added.

Kim Chiu has now joined the list of Filipino actors who received recognition from the same South Korean award-giving body.
Dennis Trillo won the Asian Star Prize in 2016 for his performance in GMA Network’s My Faithful Husband series, followed by Gabby Concepcion in 2017 for his role in another GMA-7 drama series Ika-6 Na Utos.
In 2019, Alden Richards snagged his Asian Star Prize, and then Dingdong Dantes gained the same accolade for his leading role in the Philippine adaptation of the Korean hit series Descendants of the Sun in 2020.
Moreover, Belle Mariano made history in 2022 by being the first Filipina awardee of the Outstanding Asian Star Award.
