Filipino karate superstar James De Los Santos has won a bronze at the 1st Dutch Open E-Tournament slated from June 22 to 30 amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
Fresh from his successful stint at the E-Tournament Korokotta Cup 2020, the 30-year-old athlete showed off once again his martial arts skills in virtual competition and eventually secured the bronze for the Philippines.
The national athlete went to his social media to share the good news on July 7.
“Snagged the BRONZE at the 1st Dutch Open E-Tournament!” De Los Santos announced on its Facebook post that came with his photo holding his laptop that shows his certificate.
This is the second win of De Los Santos for in an online tournament for the month of June alone after he clinched gold at the E-Tournament Korokotta Cup.
“For the month of June, I joined four virtual kata tournaments,” he continued. “Out of those tournaments, I was able to snag two medals: GOLD at the Korokotta Cup 2020 and BRONZE at the 1st Dutch Open.”
In his post, the multi-medalist Pinoy athlete thanked God, his sponsors and coaches, his family and supporters.
“It doesn’t stop there. Keep the fire burning,” James De Los Santos concluded.
At present, James De Los Santos holds the top 4 spot at the World Virtual Kata Rankings after climbing 2 notches from being Top 6 in May 2020.
