Jollibee, the Philippines’ number one fastfood and proudly Filipino homegrown brand, will mount a grand Independence Day celebration this Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Metrotent Convention Center in Pasig.
The mega-event, titled Jollibee #PinoyAndProud: 2016 Independence Day Celebration and Countdown, will feature special performances and appearances from the fastfood chain’s brand ambassadors, and world class Pinoy guest performers.
New nationalistic anthem
To commemorate the one truly Filipino holiday of the year and to celebrate it as a nation united through thick and thin, Jollibee produced its latest #PinoyAndProud anthem entitled “Sarap at Saya.”
The song, interpreted by world-class Pinay songstress Rachelle Ann Go (Miss Saigon and Les Miserables London West End productions) and teen singing sensation Darren Espanto (The Voice Kids Philippines Season 1), is a reminder of how joyful it is to be Filipino and of the many qualities that make every Pinoy proud of our beautiful country and unique culture.
The event will feature the first live performance and music video premiere of “Sarap at Saya.” The music video stars Darren and Rachelle Ann, with KZ Tandingan (The X Factor Philippines) joining Darren for the live performance.
Stellar entertainment from world-class Pinoys
Brand ambassadors Sarah Geronimo, Jodi Sta. Maria, Elmo Magalona, and the Legaspi family Zoren, Carmina, Mavy, and Cassy—all proud members of the Jollibee family—also joined the biggest Philippine Independence party in town. The roster of performers will include Acapellago, The Voice Kids Philippines Season 1 champ Lyca Gairanod and finalists Darlene Vibares and JK Labajo, and viral dance sensation John Philip Bughaw aka Balang. OPM bands Spongecola, and Itchyworms performed their chart-topping hits to the delight of the guests.
The Jolly Friends—Jollibee, Hetty, Popo, Yum, and Twirlie— will also showcase for the first time their new #PinoyAndProud outfits at the Independence Day Parade.
A spectacular laser light show will signal the midnight countdown, to be led by Jollibee executives, endorsers, and celebrity guests.
“We at Jollibee hope that Independence Day will always be celebrated as a testament to our unity as a nation, and all the wonders, joys, and flavors that bind us together as a people,” concluded Francis E. Flores, Jollibee Global Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Marketing. “But being #PinoyAndProud is something that we should cherish and celebrate every day. Kasama si Jollibee, patunayan natin na ang sarap at saya talagang maging Pilipino!”
