Jollibee’s popular Chickenjoy is now being served in the popular Filipino restaurant’s new store at 7340 Bustleton Ave., Northeast Philadelphia, its first in Pennsylvania, USA.
The homegrown international fast food chain opened over the weekend to crowds lining up at the store’s location in Great Northeast Plaza, the former Cottman-Bustleton Center.
Jollibee Chickenjoy, recently proclaimed the Best Fried Chicken in America by Eater magazine, is available at the new store along with all-time crowd favorites Filipino-style sweet Jolly Spaghetti and Peach Mango Pie.
The Philadelphia store opening to thousands of customers on September 2, 2022, follows the successful launching of the new branch in New York Times Square and marks a significant turning point in the Filipino fast food chain’s worldwide development strategy.

Plans for the Philadelphia branch with a drive-thru window have been going on for over two years.
Jollibee senior vice president of marketing, Luis Velasco, revealed that Philadelphia was a city that kept popping up in Jollibee social media comments on where to expand next.
The Filipino company is looking to open 500 sites across North America in the next five to seven years.
“For Philadelphia, as well, we would expect to open more Jollibees in the future,” Velasco said.
The Jollibee official said the timetable would rely on both the discovery of new places and population changes. Although the store has always preferred to be in urban cores and downtown locations, Velasco noted that the increased migration to suburban areas experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic may open up the area for Jollibee’s target locations.

Over 1,500 Jollibee restaurants can be found in 17 different countries, and the brand is rapidly growing in North America with 85 stores and counting.
