Mr. World Philippines JB Saliba expressed his excitement to share the beauty of Filipino culture to his fellow candidates who are in the Philippines to compete in the Mr. World 2019 pageant.
The Philippine bet to the international male pageant is welcoming the candidates as the country’s host delegate of the pageant that will be held in Metro Manila.
Saliba told media at the Mr. World press conference, held on August 8 in Quezon City, that he was happy to meet all the contestants whom he previously only knew through their group chat.
“I will share my [being] Filipino, how hospitable we are. So iyon yung unang-una kong gagawin (So that’s the first thing I’ll do),” JB Saliba shared.
The Sports Science graduate from the University of the Philippines also said that he would try his best to share the Filipino culture to his fellow candidates since most of them were interested to know more about the Philippines.
“I’ll try to share as much Filipino culture but of course, number one is the food. I think we’re going to travel also, so I think it’s going to help them to experience the Philippines,” the Mr. World Philippines 2018 said.
The 25-year-old Pinoy from Olongapo City, who represented the Asian continent candidates during the press presentation, pledged he would be a role model for his pageant brothers.
The Mr. World 2019 candidates had their first fast-track extreme sports event on August 10.
The candidates also visited children under the care of Tuloy Foundation, Inc. in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
The 3-week run of Mr. World 2019 will culminate with the crowning of its winner on finals night at the Araneta Coliseum on August 23.
