Filipino-American actor Jacob Batalon has shed his Spiderman buddy persona to take on a new role as a member of a Filipino family in the Netflix Christmas movie, “Let It Snow”.
Jacob Batalon, best known for being the best friend of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in the hit Spiderman movies, is starring in the new Netflix film that started streaming on November 8.
In “Let It Snow”, Batalon plays a high school student and aspiring DJ who desperately wants to host a holiday party for his friends.
The movie, based on John Green’s best-selling novel, has Jacob Batalon, Isabela Moner, Shameik Moore, and Kiernan Shipka playing high school seniors who learn about friendships, love lives, and futures as a snowstorm hits their small town on a cold Christmas Eve.
The movie’s leads and supporting characters, who come from diverse backgrounds, tell the stories about minorities including Batalon’s Filipino-American family.
Let It Snow is now streaming on Netflix.
Jacob Batalon came home to the Philippines recently to promote the Spiderman movies and had a taste of Philippine culture.
Batalon starred as Ned Leeds in Marvel Cinematic Universe 2017 hit film Spiderman: Homecoming and reprised the same role in the sequel Spiderman: Far From Home.
He again reprised the same Spiderman’s buddy role in the Avengers Infinity War series.
