Filipino-Italian model-actress Sharon Idone of Iloilo has won the Miss Summit International 2024 pageant, bringing honor to both of her parents’ heritage.
The 23-year-old animal welfare advocate, who represented Italy in honor of her late Italian father, bested 34 other candidates from different countries under the “Miss Category” (18-29 years old).
She was eventually hailed as the winner of the international beauty competition organized by the United States-based organization and held on July 20 in Cebu.
Aside from the crown and title, Idone also took home five major awards:
- Best in National Costume
- Best in Swimsuit
- Best in Glamshot
- People’s Choice Award
- Best in Headshot
Meanwhile, her fellow candidate Miss Philippines Maiko Ibarro from Baguio City settled as her First Runner-up.
Other candidates who bagged crowns and pageant titles are Ms. Summit International 2024 Deborah Missy Scott from the U.S.A, Mrs. Summit International 2024 Ranti Zapart from Australia, and Summit International Ambassador 2024 Nancy Nguyen Liles from the U.S.A.
During the 2022 edition, Filipina beauty queen Nica Zosa Nabua won the country’s first Miss Summit International crown in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A.
Other pageant contenders from the Philippines who made headlines recently are Samantha Gabronino, winner of the Miss Grand Prix crown at the Miss Freedom of the World 2024 pageant in Kosovo, and Alethea Ambrosio who took home the Miss Supranational Asia and Oceania 2024 title from Poland.
