Jollibee, the well loved Philippine fast food chain, ended 2019 with more milestones as it opened new branches in Canada and the United States with huge crowds lining up for the openings.
Jollibee Chandler, the first in the Arizona state, opened its store on December 28, while Jollibee Regina opened its first store in Saskatchewan, Canada on December 24, 2019.
Jollibee Foods Corporation, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing Asian restaurant companies, reported people even camped out amidst extremely cold weather for as long as 3 days outside the Chandler store so they could be among the first to enter when the store opened.
Both Filipinos and non-Filipinos lined up in the opening for a first-hand experience of Jollibee.
With the addition of two stores, there are now a total of 50 stores in the US and Canada.
The homegrown food brand is set to further expand its network with expansion in Canada that will focus on Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec. At the same time, the brand’s areas of focus in the US will be in Florida, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Texas, Nevada, California and Hawaii.
JFC North America President Beth Dela Cruz said in a statement to media, “Jollibee is a family brand so it means the world to us that members of the community linked up with their loved ones to come to our store and share in the joy that Jollibee brings.”
Residents in other countries expressed their hope that the next Jollibee store will be in their places. Among them, Facebook user, Gladys Losgano from Germany who posted, “Still waiting in Germany dear Jollibee… anyways congratulations!”. Wayne Larbalestier also commented, “Congrats on your new store Jollibee can’t wait for you to open in Southampton please!”
Jollibee Foods Corporation also has branches in Europe, Manhattan, London, and many more. Canadian celebrity Devon Sawa, who visited the country recently, raved about having Jollibee meals.
Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited Jollibee’s first store which opened in 2017.
Jollibee opened stores in Edmonton in Canada, Manhattan in New York, London, and Milan in Italy.
