“Yun nga nandito na kami so hindi na kami titigil na gumawa ng history para sa Philippine volleyball (We’re here now, and we won’t stop making history for Philippine volleyball),” declared outside spiker Eya Laure, who led with 15 points, including 12 attacks, two aces, and a block.
Managed by the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), the undefeated Philippine team will face Pool B’s second seed, Kazakhstan, in the semifinal match set for Tuesday, May 28, at 7 p.m. The Filipinas seek revenge against the Kazakhstani, who defeated them at the Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship last year.
The semifinalists of the 2024 AVC Challenge Cup for Women include the Philippines, Australia, Vietnam, and Kazakhstan.
Winners will be awarded on Wednesday, May 29, and earn the right to compete in the Volleyball World Challenger Cup from July 4-7, 2024, in Manila.
