Actress and global fashion icon Heart Evangelista shined with kindness and generosity after selling her luxury bag and donating its proceeds to a foundation.
The Kapuso star and international fashion influencer successfully raised PhP1.5 million by selling one of the luxury bags from her collection and donated the money to the Senate Spouses Foundation, Inc. (SSFI) where she has been serving as president since June 2024.
The senator’s wife shared this inspiring good news through a short video on her social media posted last July 30.
“Turning my passion projects for good [Red Heart emoji]. The proceeds of this #lovemariehandpaintedbags from my personal collections will continue to bless more hearts in need. [Face Holding Back Tears and Folded Hands emojis],” Evangelista wrote in her caption.
“Through the collective efforts of our generous donors, members of the Senate Spouses, and our other partners, may we continue to extend help to those in need [Folded Hands and Read Hearts emojis],” she added.
In the video, Evangelista narrated how she raised funds for future projects of their foundation.
“I am pleased to lead the ceremonial turnover of a P1.5 million donation to the Senate Spouses Foundation. This contribution is sourced from the sale of a vintage Hermes Kelly 32 bag from my personal collection which I painted,” the actress shared.
“As the president of the Senate Spouses Foundation, I consider it extremely important to personally contribute to the cause of the foundation. But I emphasize that the work of the SSFI is a collective endeavor,” she continued.
The actress and animal welfare advocate also expressed gratitude to those helping their organization in their humanitarian aid projects.
“So allow me at this juncture to thank you for your dedication, to all our dedicated sponsors whose generous contribution not only [helped] jumpstarted our initial operations but also will keep us moving forward,” Evangelista concluded.
In 2020, she made headlines for giving away tablets for students’ online learning due to the pandemic.
That same year, the former First Lady of Sorsogon championed local products such as Pili Nuts which she turned into fashion items and decorations.
