Pasig City on Tuesday started giving out the Supplemental Social Amelioration Program cash aid to all qualified families under the community quarantine.
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto reported on Facebook Live and Twitter on May 5, 2020, that the city has started distributing the Pasig Supplemental Social Amelioration Program of Php 8,000 cash aid to families not covered by the national aid.
Sotto also said that the city is almost done with distributing the National Social Amelioration Program aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
“Our goal w SUPPLEMENTAL SAP is to help ALL Pasigueños in need,” Sotto tweeted.
The city mayor clarified that Pasig City is able to give out the supplemental cash aid after the city council approved the release of the funds and that not all local government units are able to do the same.
The Supplemental SAP distribution on a house-to-house basis had its pilot run in 5 barangays and will continue to distribute daily to the rest of the city’s 30 barangays.
The Supplemental SAP gives assistance to the families who are not included in the list of recipients of the DSWD Social Amelioration Program from the national government.
In a Facebook post, Pasig City Public Information Office also provided the guidelines for the Pasig City Supplemental Social Amelioration Program:

Pasig City had quickly offered free rides to its health workers, city frontline personnel, and patients, with the deployment of the COMET e-Bus and e-Trikes when the lockdown was enforced in mid-March over Luzon island to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease.
Pasig also launched the Mobile Palengke, a truck that serves as a store selling goods from the market.
