It looks like the Philippines never runs out of uniquely talented Filipinos. This time, a Pinoy musician not only used his teeth to flash a smile to the audience, he also used them to play the guitar.
OFW Joselito “Jojo” Francisco made the country proud by winning the first ever “UAE’s Got Talent” in the guitar skills category. In the performance Francisco expertly plays Guns n Roses’ “Sweet Child of Mine” with some unconventional techniques. Aside from using his fingers, the Zamboanga Sibugay-native guitarist made the audience and the judges’ jaws drop when he played the instrument with his teeth.
There were reportedly more than 500 participants from around the world who competed in the first UAE’s Got Talent show. The month-long contest took place in LuLu Mall, Fujairah.
Two other Filipinos also took home victories from the talent show – 20 year-old Marjorie Rayas won the prize in the senior singing category while 5-year-old Charlotte Jamil Dib won in the junior acting category.
A judge from the competition even remarked that the contestants’ performances exceeded her expectations, saying: “It’s been absolutely amazing. I have never seen such talent; the talents are beyond what I imagined, I have been crying since I arrived today, they made me so passionate.”
Winners of the talent show received a music system, a Dh1,000 shopping voucher, a trophy and certificate, and the promise of more opportunities to come.
