Gucci’s latest video advertisement features Filipina Model Hannah Locsin in an ‘80s-themed makeup tutorial video for the Mascara L’Obscur directed by Max Siedentopf.
The Italian luxury fashion brand’s new ad showcases the first Filipina model to grace the Gucci Runway on Milan Fashion Week in 2019 while having her mascara done by makeup artist Thomas de Kluyver,
The new Gucci video ad released onMarch 4, 2020, is the second in the Gucci Beauty series of playful two-in-one tutorial videos.
“Referencing the ‘80s aesthetic of irony, humor and playfulness, the set becomes a craft workshop where Gucci Global Makeup Artist, Thomas de Kluyver, teaches makeup lovers how to achieve the ‘classic look’ with the new mascara and how to build a wooden cabinet,” Gucci social media describes its new video.
The luxury label’s new ad shows Hannah Locsin wearing a checkered sleeveless coat, canary yellow turtleneck top, double G-printed retro trousers, black leather belt with lion head buckle, and patent leather gloves. Completing the look, a style from Gucci’s spring-summer 2020 show, is her signature bowl cut hairstyle.
Just like Kelsey Merritt, the first Filipino to walk in the Victoria Secret Fashion Show, Locsin is also the first Filipino who walked for Gucci Spring-Summer 2020 presentation in her debut in the Milan Fashion Week last year.
Hannah Locsin and Kelsey Merritt surely have opened doors for the Filipinos in these International brands.
Celebrity Maymay Entrata holds the distinction of being the first Pinay to walk the Arab Fashion Week wearing Filipino-designed Amato Couture.
