GMA Network reached another digital milestone after GMA Public Affairs YouTube channel hit the 10 million subscribers mark.
The Kapuso Network shared the good news on April 8, 2020, a day after it successfully reached the 10 million subscribers mark on the popular video-sharing website, YouTube.
The recent online success of the multi-awarded Philippine television network followed the achievement of its Entertainment channel reaching the same feat in May 2019 when the channel was awarded the YouTube Diamond Creator Award.
GMA Network is the first Filipino TV network and the second TV network in Southeast Asia to have two YouTube Channels with 10 million subscribers, following the feat of Thailand’s GMM Grammy Public Company Limited.
The GMA Public Affairs YouTube channel was created in August 2009. In 2016, the channel was awarded the Silver Play Button by YouTube when it reached 100,000 subscribers. The channel hit the 1M subscriber mark in 2018.
GMA Network is known for producing award-winning documentaries, docudrama, lifestyle TV programs, and news magazine shows.
Among its flagship programs now also seen on YouTube are the weekly magazine shows such as Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, Stand for Truth series headed by Atom Araullo, Reporter’s Notebook with Makki Pulido, morning show Unang Hirit, and more.
