Two date movies featuring Filipino romance, “Dear Heart” starring Gabby Concepcion and Sharon Cuneta and “Sana Dati” with Lovi Poe and Paulo Avelino, will be screened this Valentine’s weekend at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) for free.
The CCP’s Arthouse Cinema organized the special Valentine’s offering to the public at the CCP Tanghalang Manuel Conde on February 14 and 15, 2020.
Critically-acclaimed filmmaker Jerrold Tarog’s “Sana Dati (If Only)” starring Kapuso actress Lovi Poe and Goyo actor Paulo Avelino is the story of Andrea who is about to get into a loveless marriage but meets a stranger who reminds her of her true love.
Friday’s date movie, Sana Dati, was the Best Film awardee at the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival in 2013.
“Sana Dati’ will be screened on February 14 at 3 PM.

Showing on Saturday is “Dear Heart”, directed by Danny Zialcita and topbilled by the iconic 80s love team of Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion.
Dear Heart, Megastar Sharon’s first film released in 1981, is the movie that started the reel and real-life romance between the two leads and spawned a generation of fans who to this day still “ship” the couple as evidenced by the buzz created by their reunion on a Valentine’s Day TV ad in 2018.
Dear Heart is all about the innocence of young love that struck a chord with the Pinoy audience, making it a blockbuster movie that resulted in many more collaborations between the two stars – including a marriage and a daughter known now as model-celebrity KC Concepcion.
The Sharon-Gabby movie, which also stars the late actor and Filipino pride advocate Eddie Garcia, is scheduled for screening on February 15, 3 PM.
Valentine’s Day is also the date when Netflix releases #Jowable, the movie of Rak of Aegis’ Kim Molina and Jerald Napoles.
