Filipino broadcast journalist Mark Zambrano co-hosted the 23rd Asian Television Awards (ATA) held in Borneo Convention Centre in Kuching, Malaysia, the night of January 12.
Zambrano joined other Asian celebrities Adrian Jalaludin, May Wan & Choy Wan, and Wallace Ang in hosting one of the most celebrated events in Asian TV industry that recognizes excellence in programming, production and performance. The ATA in 2017 awarded Filipino international broadcast journalist from Rico Hizon for his BBC Newsday, the first time a news program anchored by a Filipino was given a recognition.
Zambrano shared ATA’s Instagram post and expressed that he was honored to be chosen as one of the hosts for this year’s Asian TV Awards.
The Filipino senior anchor and reporter wrote, “Truly honored to be hosting the 23rd @asiantvawards LIVE this January 12 8pm in Kuching Sarawak. You can also catch the show on the Asian Television Awards Facebook page. See you all there!”
Filipino TV shows and personalities were also nominated for different categories such as “The Bottom Line with Boy Abunda” for Best Talk Show, Boy Abunda for Best Current Affairs Presenter, Carlo Pamintuan for Best Sports Presenter, Mi Amor for Best Theme Song, Adrian Alandy for Best Supporting Actor, and Maja Salvador for Best Actress.
The Philippines’ “Mr. Pure Energy” Gary Valenciano graced the awards night with a stunning stage performance.
In his latest post on Instagram after the event, Mark Zambrano expressed his gratitude for the experience “working with such an amazing bunch of pros” at the Asian Television Awards.
