Filipino karatekas James De Los Santos and Fatima A-Isha Hamsain reaped gold medals in their respective categories during the first Inner Strength Martial Arts International eTournament.
De Los Santos, the No. 1 eKATA player in the world, copped his 38th gold medal overall when he defeated Nejc Sternia of Slovenia 25.4-24.6 in the men’s final held on February 11, 2021.
“I just concluded the 1st Inner Strength Martial Arts International eTournament! In the final round, I faced Slovenia and captured my 2nd gold medal as the end result,” James De Los Santos wrote.
“I’m also very proud to say that my kata student from MKKPI Fatima A-Isha Lim Hamsain challenged herself by competing in the older women’s kata categories, the U16 and U18 divisions, and ended up finishing with two gold medals!” De Los Santos announced.
Fatima A-Isha Hamsain, a student of eKata World No. 1 James De Los Santos at the Maharlika Karatedo Kai of the Philippines Int. (MKKPI) garnered 2 gold medals by winning in the U-16 and U-18 e-kata Individual Female eKata divisions.
Hamsain beat her competitor Vasiljeva Jelizaveta from Latvia in the final 24.1-23.8 in the U-16 division and added the U-18 title with a 24-23.5 victory against Marie Zinecker of Germany.
“I’m very proud of your progress; keep it up! This will further boost our standing in the eKata world rankings,” James De Los Santos adds.
The Philippines’ e-Kata champion James De Los Santos remains the World-ranked No. 1 bearing 19,470 points since he secured the spot last October.
De Los Santos earlier conquered the 2021 SportData eTournament World Series #1 with his first gold finish of the year.
Filipino teen karateka Fatima A-Isha Hamsain is still ruling the Under-15 e-Kumite female category as the No. 1 player in the World Rankings.
