An all-Filipino finals game secured recognition for Filipino gamers as the best in Southeast Asia, with Aether Main (now Bren Esports) winning the grand champion title at the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) Party of Legends held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Aether Main’s 6-member squad, Renz Carlo “Pein” Reyes, Yuji “Yuji” Aizawa, CJ “Ribo” Ribo, Ralph Mico “Coco” Sampang, Matthew “666” Mandilag, and, Jeniel “YellyHaze” Bata-anon, claimed the championship at the MSC 2018 after being pitted against fellow Filipinos from Digital Devils Professional Gaming.
The two Esports teams from the Philippines faced off in Indonesia fresh from their finals appearance at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League – Philippines held in Manila where Aether Main also emerged victorious.
Aether Main went home with their trophy and a prize pot of $50,476 (₱2,683,304).
Digital Devils Professional Gaming’s Lester “Tets” Santos, Angelo Kyle “Pheww” Arcangel , Erwin “Yakou” Magno, Marc Jayson “Eson” Gerardo, Marc Danielle “Dee” San Luis, and Kevin ”Bluffzy” Reyes finished 1st Runner Up to their compatriots and brought home the prize amounting to $27,238 (₱1,448,108).
Aether Main and Digital Devils Professional Gaming outlasted eight teams from six Southeast Asian countries to earn their spots in the MSC 2018 Grand Finals.
